HOW TO MEASURE YOUR ARCHED WINDOWS FOR SCREENS

To measure your arched windows for a full window screen frame, follow these simple instructions.  For the most accuracy in preparing your screen measurements, right click on the diagram to the left, click on Open Link in New Window, right click on the picture in the new window, click Copy Image and past it to a new Word page, then print it. Once you have a printed copy, write the measurement next to each number according to the instructions below.  

If the screen is going to be mounted inside a window frame, to secure the screen in place, allow 5/16 of an inch all around the window for the encasement clips on both sides of the window, as well as above and below the window.   If the screen is going to be flush with the outside wall, you may want to add ½ inch to 1 inch all the way around the screen, according to your choice.  The number of encasement clips around the screen is also a matter of preference.  

When measuring the height of the window:

1. Measure from the left lower corner to the top corner (as indicated by arrow no. 1);

2. Measure the middle of the window from the outer edge frame at the bottom of the window to the outer edge of the center of the arch (as indicated by arrow no. 2); and

3. Finally, measure from the right lower corner of window to the top corner (as indicated by arrow no. 3 in the above drawing). Record the measurements next to the number designated for that area.

When measuring the width of the window:

Measure all the way to the outside edges of the window frame (as indicated by the arrows) and measure all three levels (top, middle, and bottom) to ensure accuracy. Record the measurements next to the number designated for that area.

Measuring the thickness of the screen frame:
